About Express Freight

Express Freight is an independent freight company based in Northern Ireland, with strategic trading partners in the UK and Southern Ireland providing it's customers with all-Ireland, UK and European freight delivery services.

Established by current Managing Directors father, CE Mitchell Ltd operated a local parcel delivery service, specialising in drapery and footwear.
The business was rebranded as 'Express Parcels' in 1978
Dublin depot opened in 1982, expanding services to offer next day and economy services throughout Ireland.
Operations moved to Tandragee in 1983.
Transport Development Group PLC bought company over in 1987
Management bought company back in 1993, as parcel sector fell outside TDG's core business activity.
Due to business expansion Express Parcels moved to current premises in 1997.
Due to the fact that we handle all types of freight the business has rebranded its trading name in January 2012 to Express Freight.

Fleet Details

Express Freight currently runs up to 54 delivery routes per day, with a fleet consisting of:

  • 3.5 ton long wheel base vans
  • 6.5 ton long wheel base Luton body vans
  • 7.5 box vehicles
  • 12 ton box/ curtainsider vehicles
  • 18 ton box/ curtainsider vehicles
  • 5 Tractor units
  • All vehicles fitted with tail lifts

Depot Details

The depot in Craigavon is on a 3 acre site, purpose built to include:

  • 17,500sq ft raised warehouse floor
  • 38 loading bays and a rear access bay
  • 6,000 sq ft storage area
  • Automated all-vehicle wash
  • 6,500 sq ft office accommodation
  • 10,000sq ft drive-through canopy

Located in Moyraverty, Craigavon just 25 miles from Belfast city centre, with easy access to the Dublin / Belfast motorway link.
